  • Yes. I am in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Medicare, United Health Care, Optum, and Oscar. If you did not see your insurance listed above, please contact your insurance provider to check benefits since many PPO insurances have out of network benefits (meaning they will cover all or a portion of the session cost) with the submission of a superbill.

  • Adult personality and other psychological testing may be covered by insurance. Please call the office to confirm. For child testing, including Gifted, ADHD, and Learning Disability evaluations, these are not covered by insurance. Please contact the office for cost details.

  • For Adults, I offer General Personality, Learning Disability, and ADHD evaluations. These may be used to answer referral questions regarding diagnostic clarification as well as the need for school and/or standardized testing accommodations. For school-aged children, I offer ADHD, Learning Disability, and Gifted evaluations. These may be used to answer referral questions regarding appropriate school placement and/or accommodations. Please note I do not test children under six years old.

  • The first session is typically spent getting to know the client, discussing background history, going over presenting concerns and answering questions. This time is also devoted to coming up with goals for therapy and discussing expectations.

  • The first step is to complete all the necessary forms, which can be accessed by clicking on the “Forms” tab. Some clients find it helpful to write down the main points they would like to address during the first session or any questions they would like answered. If relevant, bringing in previous reports, evaluations, or treatment summaries is recommended, particularly if the appointment is for psychological/psychoeducational testing.

  • My main practice location is in Cooper City, and I see clients here Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30am to 5pm. My secondary location is in Hollywood where I see clients on Wednesdays from 8:30am to 5pm.

  • Unfortunately, my day in Hollywood is strictly limited to Wednesdays but telehealth is always an option.

  • After hours calls are picked up by the answering service and will be returned the next working day. Clients can also email me at drmariabyk@gmail.com. Emails to me may be answered sooner than messages left with the answering service. It is important to note that my office does not handle emergencies at any time day or night. If you have an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

  • Yes, if such letters are requested, and there is clinical indication, I will write an ESA letter for established clients only. Please contact the office about fees.

  • Yes, if such paperwork is requested, and there is clinical indication, I will complete FMLA paperwork for established clients only. Please contact the office about fees.
